Who is Sam Bowen may you ask?

Well, I am a well-travelled cultured photographer ranging from Europe to Australia.

I lived for a period in Holland and France, travelled to Australia twice, of which one was to photograph a wedding; I even once travelled to five different countries for 5p!

My flair for photography is all natural and self-taught. I have done numerous different variations of photography from weddings, sports photography such has sailing, motorsports, surfing, landscapes, shoots at skate parks where I have produced shots for an exhibition. I have dabbled in doing family shoots too, one session was hilarious when the three rascals wouldn’t sit still, but those shots I produced from that were so natural that the family loved them more than the traditional shots.

I like to take photos that are natural and not posed as it brings personality and emotion through naturally. The main effect I like to create in wedding shots and even more so in shoots relating to ‘Boudoir’ is to make people confident in their own skin and when they look at the photos, inspire them and bring forth positive emotions about every aspect. from the day or shoot, right down to them seeing the photos and how the photos are displayed.

The Boudoir shoots I’ve done recently - I prefer these shoots to be called ‘body confidence’ photography, because I would like people, when they do these shoots to feel inspired in seeing themselves from another point of view and make them feel confident and positive after the experience.

When I take photos at weddings I like to try and make myself invisible, (I have been called a ‘ninja photographer’) which I believe helps make the photos captured more natural.

The reason I feel such a great passion for photography is two-fold. Firstly I aim to challenge the self-perception of my subject, to give confidence and inspire positivity in whoever I am photographing.

Secondly, I find great fulfilment in seeking out the beauty in what would usually be seen as ordinary. My photography background started from having a curiosity about portrait photography and strong imaging,

There is a moment, when I feel an almost physical connection to enigmatic images.

I hope I can give that moment to you.

Thankyou for visiting my website.
